Recro side stepped, avoiding the paralyzing bolts of electricity. He saw the two young Pichu, one jumping from platform to platform on the east wall, and figured the attacker was the older of the two. He dashed over, and scooped up the larger of them-- much to his disdain-- and delivered him to his younger brother. After all, he's trying to recruit, not scar two children for life.

Once the large Zangoose had finished what he was doing, Din ran toward him in a quick attack and used a jumping tackle to try and hit the fast creature.

Figuring he was too big to duck, and not light enough to jump over the air-borne Cyndaquil, he just twirled out of her way, and turned to look at the rest of the Pokemon.

[Chain] A Pidgey had snuck above him and used a pretty hefty gust. This caused Recro to fall, catching himself on all fours; his fastest stance. However, an Octillery, who had made it's way into the southern water crevice, had constricted his legs. And to top it off a beautiful Shiny Kirlia used a dose of confusion on him. Luckily, his status didn't fall to confused, but he'll be immobile for a few turns.

Blade rubbed at his mouth for a moment, it still hurt a bit. Although, he was both thankful and surprised by the help form whom he assumed the enemy. Maybe he wasn't such a bad guy after all.

Even so, he knew he had to pass this test. For the honor of his family as he got onto his feet and used his ears to listen in to the movements. He quickly used Agility once more to even more increase his speed as he listened in carefully for certain noises. When he heard the noise of someone falling over he quickly ran over to the area.

He slid to a stop as he saw a Zangoose on all fours seeming stunned. All he just did was taught from his brother, and he was amazed he was able to do any right.

"Erm.. um.." Blade felt a little uncomfortable on attacking someone who was stunned however. He Flinched again.

Recro's eyes darted up to the Growlithe once again. He looked uncertain. The Zangoose sighed inwardly.

"I'm not out here for blood lust. But there are Pokemon who are, and that's part of what this guild is about. Kid, I'm here to see what you can do."

"Perfect! Quick Attack"

With a jump and a blink of an eye, Sarah hit Recro full force. Ah the reaction force pushed her back, Mark made his move. "Ember!". Blue flames shot out and scorched Recro. As Sarah landed from her move, she glared at him and shouted, "Hey, watch where you're going with those flames! You almost burned me..." Mark gave her a look that said, "You're a Fire type, Sarah...I don't think I would burn you..." but never got to say it as she used Tackle.

"This is gonna be a long fight" Mark thought...

The Flareon duet did a nice little number on Recro's health. He marveled about the blue Flareon in the few quick moments before getting scorched. He struggled to get free of the Octillery's constrict, but it had no effect.

"So it seems he's restricted, so all out attack."
"Of course."
"Mud Slap on the face?"
"Followed by a tackle."
"Good combo."

And so it was. Unknowing of the Zangoose who was currently restricted, Tomas found the big pokemon with his fin, and mud slapped him right on the face, then tackled his body. Unfortunately, not only did he tackle the Zangoose, but also the tentacles of the Octillery that had him under constrict and thus weakened the grip of the Octillery.

"Okay, we forgot to take something into account."
"Oh shoot..."

The ball of mud to the face hurt. A lot. But the moment the grip on him loosened, he was outta there. He ran to the other water filled crevice and washed the mud off, quickly popping some healing Oran Berries into his mouth, instantly feeling better.

a Lot of things happened before Blade as he sorta jumped a bit out of surprise. He watched as Recro ran to the waters as he followed shortly.

The Zangoose went quite a distance as Blade ran after him as he was summoning fire in his mouth. He leaped at Recro using the fire as a light to see the zangoose as this was a mixture of a makeshift Tackle and Ember as he released the ember on the Zangoose ready to tackle.

Although he was ready to splash into the water due to an epic miss he suspected to happen he actually made contact with something. He opened his eyes.

To his amazement, it hit his target. Although, right after he fell back into the water getting wet as he looked up at the Zangoose he just hit.

Quite unluckily for him, Recro got quite a nasty burn from that, causing his status to decline. He turned to see which of the fire types had landed it, and much to his surprise, found the Growlithe in the some-what muddy water. Though inflicted, he grinned at the Pokemon who had gotten over his fear for the moment.

"So obviously tackle didn't work very well."
"Perhaps we should try water gun?"
"I'm thinking mud slap."
"But it's been used twice in a row!"
"Think about it, we use the same move over and over."
"So? That just proves we're weak."
"Or it could upset him and make him attack more recklessly."
"But he hasn't attacked."
"Let's do it anyway."
"No water gun. Try mud slap later."
"Okay."

And after his little conversation, Tomas realized he talks to himself a lot, and he should probably stop doing that as it's just slowing him down. THEN using the agility he had gained earlier, Tomas sped across to the little puddle where the Zangoose was lying, took a quick water gun at point blank range, than ran back out, trying to pull along the Growlithe who he saw in the puddle along with the Zangoose.

Getting hit in the rear with the water gun caused him to face plant into the water, where the Growlithe had been moments before. He ground his teeth and jumped out, shaking off.

Din decided to give it another go, and threw herself onto the cliff closest to the Zangoose. Using a weak ember to get his attention, she caught his eye in a defense decreasing leer.

This leer only angered Recro more. He scraped his long purple claws together, in a swords dance, sharpening them, and his attack power.

Blade was a little weakened as he was wet with water, his type's weakness. He was dragged away by the mudkip Tomas as he saw the Zangoose get hit.

He felt this wasn't right somewhat, but he needed to pass the test. He soon enough got up, and tried to space himself between Tomas as he shook all the water off himself, and puffed up comically like a giant fluffball.

"Aw man...." Blade mumbled as he tried to groom himself off. But then Turnsed to Tomas and used Helping Hand since he figured Tomas could be stronger than him

"Okay Okay, so now I'm facing an angered Zangoose with an upped attack. This is bad."
"BUT you also have an upped speed as well as upped attack. So attack!"
"Defense wasn't upped, so I can try water gun again."
"Maybe a combination of attack and defense?"
"Water gun at the ground?"
"Hits his feet."
"Sinks into the muddy ground."
"Good idea."

And so Tomas shot up a water gun aimed directly at the ground where the Zangoose was standing, and even around him just to be sure that it would work if he jumped up.

"Please think that this is stupid and just stay there," he thought to himself.

That's just what happened. He jumped, to avoid the initial blast. However, the jump put extra force into the landing, his paw getting caught in the mud. He pulled his claws up through the mud with a little difficulty. He flung the excess mud in the direction of the Mudkip.

The stunned Pichu wasn't aware that the Pokemon he had just aimed his Thunder Wave at grabbed him. The electricity crackling through his fur because of the self inflicted Paralysis didn't seem to faze the mean looking cat thingy as it effortlessly carried him into the darkness.

Meanwhile, the little Pichu had just scaled the rocky cliff. He looked desperately around to see if there was anything to hide in or behind. A small hole barely caught his eyes as he scanned the area. But before he had a chance to even move, Pichu Little was blinded by a small dust cloud. Before him was a scary Pokemon that he never saw before. The red markings jumped out at him, immediately instilling fear. Pichu Little cowered before the intimidating cat-like Pokemon, covering his head with his ears.

Even if the scariest thing before him was there, curiosity arouse in him after a few seconds. Not being touched for a while, Pichu Little uncovered his eyes slowly. The Pokemon was gone. In its place was his older brother, sitting flat on his rear smiling. Fear changed into joy upon seeing this, and Pichu Little promptly tackled him to the ground. "I'm glad you're here!"

Pichu Big only wished he was more energetic. "I'm glad you're here too!" was all he could manage. The Paralysis was still numbing his body, but was quickly dissipating. It wasn't the first time he shocked himself with Thunder Wave, after all!

Their reunion was short lived, as their attention from each other was taken by loud noises from below them. The same Pokemon who separated the two as well as bringing them back together was hit by their new friends' attacks. While the younger of the two cheered them on, Pichu Big was terribly confused. Why would a good Pokemon like that be attacked by friends? His legs feeling limber enough, Pichu Big jumped off the cliff effortlessly and ran off towards the group. Pichu Little followed suit without hesitation.

**OOC** Just telling you all, that the Pichu Bros didn't hear the initial conversation in full, with the events suddenly happening to them...!

Mark and Sarah had been watching the battle for quite some time, but now they came in for their chance. Sarah quickly jumped over Recro, leaving Mark on the other side. Recro focused solely on Sarah, and lunged for her. With a smirk and another quick movement, she dodged the attack and tackled into him, causing him to teeter.

Mark took this chance and used Ember to scorch Recro, causing him to finally be knocked over. Sarah landed and smiled at him. "I'd say we're doing pretty good, huh? He shouldn't be up much longer..." Mark nodded as he observed Recro. He gradually began to get up, but what Mark didn't expect was a quick "whoosh" by Recro, who flew past him at amazing speed.

Recro got another barrage from the Pidgey, Octillery, and Kirlia what with their Sand Attack-Rock Blast-Confusion combo. He held up his paw, halting any more on-comers. His eyes ran over them, recalling their abilities, when his eyes came to the Pichu brothers. He'd only seen their Thunder Wave technique. He walked up to them slowly, "You kids have any more attacks?"

Pichu Big didn't know how to react. Why would the strange Pokemon before him want to get hurt? The concept of whatever a guild was still didn't make sense to him, nor this this entire ordeal.

Pichu Little, however, saw immediately what this was all about. "I think it's a test," he whispered to his older brother. "That's why that big cat is telling us."

"W-what?" The bigger one couldn't tell if his brother was joking or not. "How do you know?"

"TV." was his only response. Pichu Big took a moment to think, and remembered a commercial about guilds a few days before. (or at least something like it; it was actually a commercial about Pokemon Rangers) Finally grasping the situation, he knew what he had to do.

...but he didn't want to hurt anybody. Remembering how humans reacted to this attack, he was sure he wouldn't hurt the white Pokemon with his Charming wide eyed stare.

Pichu Little had no qualms, however, and immediately launched a Thundershock at the scary thing. Because he didn't prepare himself, Pichu Little's attack not only shot towards the cat like Pokemon, but jolted all over the cave! Wherever the bolts struck, small chunks of rock flew about. And, like all Pichu, the attack got the best of him, rendering the little one unconscious only after a few seconds.

Recro smiled at the Charm, but had to quickly sidestep the Thunder Shock. He called to Golem, who pushed himself inside the cave letting in lots of light. Golem caught the straying bolts with no effect to himself.

Recro caughed, chewing up a Sitrus berry. "Okay, great job everybody. I've decided my pick. Mudkip, Pidgey, Kirlia, Pichu kids," he smiles down at the two, "Flareon duet, Octillery, Cyndaquil, and..." he scanned his eyes across the crowd. "Hmm... and you Blade. Everyone else can retry at the guild Headquarters near Bright Coast, which is generally in the East direction. Those of you who passed, get anything you need, say your goodbyes and we'll be off."
